Launching on the list this week is Page Builder Sandwich, a WordPress plugin that gives each page only the CSS of the blocks on it, served from your own uploads folder. In its own measured test it added half a kilobyte to a page and made no calls to outside servers. Free to install, with Pro adding sliders, pricing tables, galleries and a form builder that needs no extra forms plugin.

The Page Builder Sandwich homepage

Page Builder Sandwich is a WordPress page builder that stores your work as ordinary WordPress blocks.

Because it avoids shortcodes and a private format, WordPress, your theme and your SEO plugin can keep reading your pages whatever you install later. Build in the standard block editor, or use Sandwich Studio, a full-screen visual editor with a layers panel, undo history, a command palette and keyboard shortcuts.

Every page loads only the styles for its own blocks, taken from your uploads folder, with neutral class names and no generator tags. A measured test page gained +0.5 kB and made 0 requests to other companies' servers. While you build, a free accessibility checker points out missing alternative text and weak colour contrast.

The free plugin includes 44 blocks and 20 website kits. Pro adds 68 blocks and 8 kits, plus a form builder, popups, A/B tests, a theme builder, a design system, a WooCommerce store builder and imports from Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery and Figma. Its MCP server, with 150 tools, lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI agents build pages.

The product dates back to 2015, and version 6 is a fresh build from the ground up. Zinn Digital® Ltd develops, sells and supports it, and Neil Lock builds it.

FAQ

Does Page Builder Sandwich cost anything?
No, not for the core plugin, which has no time limit and comes with 44 blocks, 20 website kits, Sandwich Studio and the accessibility checker. Page Builder Sandwich Pro layers on 68 further blocks, forms, popups, A/B tests and a WooCommerce store builder, and offers a 14-day free trial that needs no card.
What happens to my content when I save a page with Page Builder Sandwich?
It is stored as regular WordPress blocks rather than shortcodes or a private format. That lets WordPress, your theme and your SEO plugin read it, and the page keeps showing its content even when the plugin is turned off.
Does Page Builder Sandwich affect how fast my site loads?
A page pulls in just the styles for the blocks it contains, served from your own site. In a measured test page the plugin added +0.5 kB and 0 requests to other companies' servers, and the phone Lighthouse score remained 100.
Is it possible to bring over pages from Elementor or Divi?
Yes, using Pro. It turns pages made in Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder and WPBakery into blocks, supplies a report listing anything worth checking, and leaves the original pages untouched.
Which company is behind Page Builder Sandwich?
Zinn Digital® Ltd develops, sells and supports Page Builder Sandwich, and Neil Lock is the person who builds it.
