About Other
Other is the overflow lane of the launch calendar. Anything that is shipping but cannot be mapped to a named category lands here: hybrids, one-off experiments, tools for a niche too small for its own slot, and businesses whose model is hard to label in a word. Check the dates first, then read the entries.
The page lists every product and business filed under it, with filters to narrow the schedule. Entries run newest first by default, so today's arrivals sit at the top of the grid. Switch to community votes to see what visitors have backed. Votes are not for sale. If a more specific category exists for your launch, use that instead; Other works best as a last resort, not a first guess.
Other: questions answered
- What belongs in Other?
- Products and businesses that do not fit any named category on the calendar. That includes hybrids that straddle several fields, unusual formats and early experiments. If you can describe it with an existing category in a sentence, file it there instead.
- How do I get a launch into Other?
- Go to /submit with your site's URL. A draft profile is generated from the site, and you review and amend each field before it is published. Select Other as the primary slot; that choice is free. A free listing waits about 6-8 weeks in the queue.
- Can a listing here also appear elsewhere?
- Yes. Each listing has one primary slot, and the extra-categories upgrade costs $5 and opens 3 more. If your product is mostly one thing with an odd edge, put the clear category first and let Other be secondary, or skip it.
- How are entries ordered on this page?
- Newest first by default, so the latest arrivals head the grid. Visitors can re-sort by community votes instead. Votes are not for sale, so a high position under that sort reflects what people chose to back, not what anyone paid.
- What should I check when comparing entries in Other?
- Start with the launch date, then see whether the product is described in plain words. Look at who it is for and what it replaces. Because the range is wide, judge each entry against your own need, and check whether a narrower category holds closer matches.
